Patients and Public

For our patients and their families, friends or caregivers, AIM Health Institute organizes educational programs. Most programs run several times a year. The classes we teach serve as  empowerment and self-care tools: Once learned, these techniques will bring lifelong benefits. We do not lecture, we provide tools and support.

  • Multi-week series of classes: Classroom
    • Mindfulness-based stress reduction
    • Tai Chi
    • Reiki and biofeedback
    • Alexander Technique.
  • Support groups meetings utilize integrative medicine philosophy on healing, mind and body connection, and healthy lifestyle choices, and teach people to live with common chronic conditions such as:
    • Diabetes
    • Hypertension
    • Obesity
    • Neurodegenerative disorders
    • Autoimmune diseases
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Depression
    • Cancer.

In memory of our beloved colleague  and nurse practitioner Barbara Boston (1947-2014), AIM Health Institute has established the Barbara Boston Cancer Fund. The fund will be used for conducting cancer education/survivorship support group meetings, and for adjunctive therapies for terminally ill cancer patients. When donating to AIM, please specify whether you want your donation to go to Barbara’s Fund.

Save the date! AIM participates in local and national events related to integrative medicine, and is currently working on organizing the International Integrative Health Day in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 24, 2015. The event will include experiential workshops, speakers from the community, and free medical services.
