Access To Integrative Medicine

AIM is the first 501 (c) (3) non-profit  organization in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that  provides integrative medicine services to low-income and terminally ill patients regardless of ability to pay. Integrative medicine combines conventional medical care with complementary medicine.

Its goal is to improve patient care, and to address not only biological, but also psychological, social and spiritual aspects of health and illness. Integrative medicine treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease.

Services

Supported by grants and donations, AIM Health Institute works to provide integrative medical care for under-served, low-income populations and terminally ill patients, regardless of ability to pay.

Research & Education

Educating the public and healthcare professionals on integrative medicine. Empowering the public by providing self-care tools. Providing training & practice opportunities to medical students and integrative medicine practitioners.

Need & Impact

In Washington, DC, there are many places that offer integrative services, but they are often boutique, unaffiliated with larger medical institutions, high-cost, and unable to take insurance (Medicare and Medicaid).
